Despite RL issues, work continues on The Red Concordant.

The sticking point is that I included the ability to decipher runes in a background, but have no rules for using runes.

Dwarven Loremaster
+1 INT or CHA
Weapon Proficiency: None
Runecunning: Able to read and understand Dwarven and Giant runes as well as recall the Great Dwarven Epics. This does not grant the ability to cast spells with runes.

At first, I tried to use the rune based magic system, but that needs more work. I think I have a solution, but I need to test it out.

I could change the background, but where's the challenge in that?

Still about 27% complete.
Character Creation is done.
Systems (Stat checks, combat, etc) is outlined.

    In trying to make an interesting magic system, The Red Concordant has been bogged down for a few days.

I will simply leave the standard TBH magic system and add spells to get out the first draft for public consumption.

    I am up to 2800 words now. Working on the equipment section. I started with S&W Complete for an equipment list and consulted various ultimate equipment lists just for the heck of it.

If I can spare the word count, I need to provide a walk-through of generating a character.

Separately, still culling the spells. For some reason, I forgot to include the standard ones from The Black Hack. Maybe I should leave it that way...
